This page gives information a= bout the Lighting Render Ele= ment.
The Lighting Render Element stores di= rect lighting information from lights in the scene, and materials as lit by= the lighting. This render element can be used to brighten, lessen, or tint= the direct lighting in a composite.
Th= e VRayLighting Render Element is the same as VRayRawLighting multiplied by V= rayDiffuseFilter. VRayLighting = is provided as a convenience to the compositor.
Since = V-Ray Next Update 1, some of the render elements are rendered differently t= han before. The Lighting render element now contains all direct diffuse ill= umination and the GI element contains all indirect diffuse illumination. Si= milarly, all direct reflections of lights now go to the Specular element an= d all indirect reflections go to the Reflection element.
This render element is enabled thr= ough the Render Elements tab of the Render Setup window in 3ds Max and disp= lays its parameters in a rollout at the bottom of the window:
VRayVFB =E2= =80=93 When enabled, the render element appears in the V-Ray Virtual Frame = Buffer.
Deep output = =E2=80=93 Specifies whether to include this render element in deep images.<= /span>
Color mapping =E2=80=93 Applies the col= or mapping options specified in the Color mapping= rollout (Render Setup window > V-Ray tab) to this render element. = This option is enabled by default.
Multiplier = =E2=80=93 Sets the overall intensity of the render element, where 1.0 is th= e standard multiplier.
Denoise =E2= =80=93 Specifies whether to denoise this render element.<= /p>
The Lighting Ren= der Element is useful for changing the appearance of direct illumi= nation after rendering in a compositing or image editing application. In th= e example, a warm tone is applied to the lights in compositing.
