In Envision, importing a file doesn't embed it directly into your scene - instead, it links the file. The content of the linked file remains connected to the original source file. Linked files can exist in multiple versions, and you can easily switch between them through Envision's user interface while preserving any overrides or adjustments you've made. This linking mechanism allows for a flexible, non-destructive workflow.
From the linked file's Details panel, you also have the option to embed (or 'bake') the file into the scene when needed.
Envision supports linking for a variety of formats, including .vrscene, .vrmesh, .fbx, .obj, and .dae

Link Files
...
Linking or referencing an external file keeps the content connected to the original source file. This setup allows you to reload any changes by updating the linked file or reloading the Envision project. Keep in mind that the original file should not be deleted.
