Instead of painting additional details in an external application or trying to model them into the existing surface, we can use the V-Ray Decals. That saves us the hustle of constantly replacing textures.
Decals are also extremely handy to use and in combination with displacement texture, they can produce great results, and also you apply them on curved surfaces, too. Just make sure to adjust the normal angle value accordingly.
