Installing Chaos Scans

Chaos Scans does not need to be installed and separately as it is already automatically installed with the typical V-Ray installation. However, to use a Scans material in a scene, a separate license for the Chaos Scans plugin must be available through your USB dongle or Online license account for rendering.

License Setup

Chaos Scans is licensed the same way V-Ray and uses either the the Online Licensing System (alternatively, for older versions - hardware dongle based license).

Those who already have a dongle for V-Ray will have their Scans license added to their existing dongle which can be updated easily, as shown in the next section of this page. Those with existing Online Licenses will have the Scans license added to their accounts. Online Licensing is outlined below for your information.
