The complimentary library currently includes vegetation, furniture, accessories, lighting fixtures, vehicles, people, materials and HDRI skies. The collection is curated with a fairly western Western contemporary design aesthetic for furniture and accessories, with vegetation most common to North America, Europe and EuropeAsia. 

Is the Cosmos Library free?

Yes. The Cosmos Library is included for free as part of Chaos products that include Cosmos. All Chaos Cosmos assets are free of charge and can be downloaded and used in any host platform of V-Ray 5 where Cosmos is integrated.

 

Is there anything special about Cosmos assets?

Yes! Chaos ensures that Cosmos assets render the same across Chaos products (that support Cosmos) and renderers, including V-Ray, V-Ray GPU, V-Ray Vision, and Chaos Vantage. They also intelligently adapt their level of detail for optimal use with premade V-Ray proxies.

 

Can I use the Cosmos Library offline?

Yes. You can assign new materials to merged Cosmos assets as you can to a standard scene geometry.

 

Does Chaos Cosmos work with V-Ray Next for Revit, Sketchup, Rhino and 3ds Max or V-Ray 3.7 for Cinema4D?

No. The Chaos Cosmos Browser library is integrated into V-Ray 5 for Revit and Update 1 of V-Ray 5 for SketchUp, Rhino, 3ds Max and Cinema 4D, as well as Chaos Vantage, v1.1.0.


Are new Cosmos materials editable?

Yes, you can edit parameters like color, gloss, bump, and others. The specific parameters vary depending on the native material format for the respective V-Ray integration. For products such as 3ds Max the proprietary material format parameters can be customized, while for SketchUp and Rhino the .vrmat standard variables are used. In any case, you can edit the Cosmos materials in the way you would edit any other material in the host app.
