Starting with V-Ray 6, each SketchUp and Enscape material creates its own counterpart in the V-Ray Asset Editor. These counterparts now appear as non-editable Host materials. This way, the assets are protected from V-Ray writing its own material parameters data within. Keeping the native materials clean from V-Ray data allows non-intrusive usage of both V-Ray and Enscape simultaneously in the same project. If you wish to edit a SketchUp/Enscape material with V-Ray to take advantage of advanced material options, select the Host Materials' Edit in V-Ray option to convert it. Once a material is converted to V-Ray, it cannot be reversed without losing all of the associated V-Ray data. Reverting materials is available through the V-Ray menu Extensions > V-Ray > Tools > Remove V-Ray Properties from Material. Note that Enscape materials have their Binding disabled by default to ensure changes in V-Ray do not affect them. Keywords are supported. Grass and Carpet are not fully supported. Generation of grass or textile strands needs to be manually redone in V-Ray using V-Ray Fur. |

For Initialize Enscape first for Enscape assets to render properly in V-Ray , you have to initialize Enscape firston Windows. This needs to be done only once for the assets data to be populated in the project. Afterwards, this step must be repeated only after introducing more new assets. Once done, you don't have to start Enscape again, even if you save the project and reopen it later. |

Settings and camera exposure from Enscape are not transferred to V-Ray. V-Ray settings have to be adjusted additionally. Enscape procedural clouds can be replicated in V-Ray using V-Ray Procedural clouds and can also be animated for sun studies. To stop the Enscape - V-Ray workflow, go to V-Ray menu > Preferences and disable the Enscape Compatibility option. |
