This page provides information on the MtlMaterialID node.


Overview


The MtlMaterialID node allows you to assign an ID number to any material in your scene. This ID can later be used to extract a mask for all objects with that material using the appropriate render channel.


Node


The MtlMaterialID node provides inputs for controlling various material properties. Some correspond to parameters in the section below.

Base-mtl – A slot for the material that the ID is assigned to.



Parameters


Material ID Color – Specifies a unique ID color to the material.

ID Number – Specifies a unique identification number for that material.

LPE Label – Specifies a light path expression label for the material. Find more information about what light path expressions are at the Advanced Light Path Expressions page.
