This page provides information about the V-Ray Scene export options. 


Overview

The .vrscene file format is a text file that can be exported from Blender and other platforms that use V-Ray. It contains all the information about the scene such as geometry, lights and shaders, and can be rendered with the V-Ray Standalone. Additionally, .vrscene files from any V-Ray platform can be imported into V-Ray for Blender. This functionality can transfer lights and entire assets with their textures and materials between V-Ray platforms, while animation is also included.


V-Ray Scene Export


File path – Specifies the location and name for the .vrscene file.

Compressed – When enabled, basic compression will be applied to the .vrscene file. This option can only be used together with Meshes in HEX format.

Meshes in HEX Format – When enabled (the default), the mesh data will be written in hexadecimal format in the .vrscene file. This makes the files smaller and faster for processing, but less readable to a user. When disabled, the mesh data will be written in normal decimal format.

Transforms in HEX Format – When enabled (the default), transform data will be written in hexadecimal format in the .vrscene file. This makes the files smaller and faster for processing, but less readable to a user. When disabled, the data will be written in normal decimal format.

Separate Files – When enabled, V-Ray will export separate files for different components of the scene. This also allows you to disable export for certain types of objects.
