This page provides information on V-Ray Proxy settings integrated in Solaris's V-Ray Proxy Import LOP.
The V-Ray Proxy settings are located in the V-Ray Proxy Import LOP. The settings are equivalent to the standard V-Ray Proxy Import settings in obj network.
V-Ray Proxy imports geometry from an external mesh at render time only. The geometry is not present in the scene, and does not use up any resources. This allows the rendering of scenes with many millions of faces, more than Houdini itself can handle.
Currently, the V-Ray Proxy Import LOP can load only .vrmesh files. Once the .vrmesh file is loaded, a VRayGeomMeshFile USD primitive is created.
