Overview
Seats and Devices
Once you have purchased a Subscription, you will find it on the products section in the MyChaos portal, under Products > Active products:
In there, if you click on the link Manage devices, you will go directly to your subscription admin panel on the AXYZ website:
This subscription section of the dashboard includes 2 subsections: “Status” and “My devices“, which can be used to manage the status of your subscription in realtime and also to manage the pre-authorized devices.
“Status” Dashboard
The first one, “Status“, gives you a quick overview of the current state of your subscription. Let’s see what exactly represents each of the 6 cells of this table:
SEATS
A seat is what was commonly known before as an anima® PRO license. We have changed its name to make it clear when we are talking about a PRO perpetual license or a PRO license that is actually linked to an anima® ALL subscription plan.
Please notice that all the plugins are also using the same license verification, so you will be occupying a seat either using the standalone application or rendering with any of our native plugins (3dsMax®, Maya®, Cinema4D®, or Unreal Engine®).
DEVICES
A device is a computer where you have installed a seat, that is, an instance of anima® ALL (formerly known as PRO) or any of its plugins.
INCLUDED ASSETS
This represents the current number of metropoly® models available in all the categories included in your subscription plan. Please notice that we are constantly adding new models to this library, so this is an approximate number that will be increased on a regular basis.
AVAILABLE DAYS
This is the number of days that remain on your subscription. The date that is shown below represents when your subscription will expire. Please note that, for more comfortable management, all your seats will always expire on the same date.
SOFTWARE VERSION
This shows the latest available version of anima® ALL. All the new versions of anima® will be automatically included in your subscription plan, always.
INCLUDED CATEGORIES
At this moment we only offer 1 subscription plan which includes all the types of models (categories) available in our metropoly® library. However, in the mid-term future, we are open to increasing the diversity of our subscription plans and offering different options including other combinations of categories.
PURCHASE HISTORY
Below the 6-cell status table, you will find a transaction history that includes a list of all subscription-related Orders you have placed in your account.
“My devices” Dashboard
This section of the Subscription Admin panel is meant to be used to manage all the seats and devices that are being used at any moment.
The upper section can be used to generate new Temporary Activation codes which can be used by anyone to let them activate this subscription on a new device. This was designed to be used in companies or other collaboration environments with multiple users, to open the possibility of activating a license without sharing the user and password of the main account. To know more about how this process works exactly, please check Device Activation article.
The lower section contains a list of devices and the current connection and activation state of each one, plus a brief description of the information available related to each device.
The list can be filtered using any of the 4 TABs shown at the beginning:
- All my devices
- Connected devices
- Disconnected devices
- Locked devices
By default, the first one is selected, which shows a list of every device that has been activated at some point, either using the user credentials of the account or using a temporary activation code.
Connected Device
When anima® ALL device is being used in a device, it appears as connected in the list:
- This green dot means that the device is connected at this moment and occupies one of the Seats of the account.
- The title of each device includes the Hostname and the date when it was activated for the first time. The title is also shown in green when the device is using a seat.
- This switch will let you LOCK a device. In the LOCK section below you will find more information about why and when you might want to use this option.
This is the custom name that you want to give to your device. By default, the hostname is shown, but you can modify it by just clicking the name.
- In this section, you will see the details of the device, including Hostname, Hardware ID, IP, creation date, last connection, and anima® version.
- Finally, the trash bin will let you remove this device from the account.
Disconnected Device
Once you close your instance of anima® ALL the device will appear as disconnected, with an empty dot and the title bar in grey.
Lock Device
The green switch allows you to disable a device from using the license while keeping it in the device list, so it does not need to be activated again later if you decide to unlock it.
This can be useful in many situations, for example, when sharing a seat with a freelancer to do a timely project, or when you are in a big company with many seats and you need to grant access to some workstations only to prioritize the execution of a particular job when a deadline is close.
When you click there, the following message is shown, which briefly explains the consequences of using it:
Then you will see that device as Locked, with the switch disabled and not green anymore but white:
If a user tries to use anima® ALL from that device, it will get an error message saying that there is no license available anymore
Remove Device
Finally, you have the option to remove a device when you think that you won’t use that device anymore for some reason.
This will surely be very useful in many situations, for example, for technical reasons when a machine breaks, or when you got a newer workstation and you want to make some room for it in your device list, or when you finish a temporal collaboration with an external freelance.
To do that, click on the trash bin icon and a warning message will ask you for confirmation:
Summary
With the “My Devices” dashboard you have total control over your subscription in a centralized and easy way. You can always know WHO is using it and WHERE it is being used, allowing you to control and block their access to the service at ANY TIME.
