This page gives an outline of how to troubleshoot and report issues with Chaos Vantage.


Overview


 All processes and events executing in Chaos Arena are exported to system log files.


Logging


Log files can contain additional debugging information in case of issues.

Warnings and errors from the render and operator machines are shown in the Server log in the UI. Note that not all warnings and errors are critical or even relevant.

Note that the log files are cleared when the server and Vantage are opened.

The Server log file is located in %LocalAppData%\Chaos\Arena\arena_server.log. It also includes the full V-Ray AppSDK debug log, and the Vantage logs from the render and operator machines (apart from debug messages).

The full Renderer log files are located in %LocalAppData%\Chaos\Arena\arena_renderer.log on each rendering machine.




Issue Reporting Guide


When reporting issues, provide as much information regarding the problem as possible.


Listed below are the files and the required additional information that will be useful:

  • Steps or a video to reproduce the problem.
  • The logs located in %LocalAppData%\Chaos\Arena\.
  • Vantage_########_######.dmp located in %temp% (may not exist).
  • Test scene that reproduces the problem.
  • Screenshot(s) of any other UI that is appropriate for the issue.
  • Hardware and system specs of your workstation.
