This page provides information about the V-Ray Scene Export in Enscape.

Overview

V-Ray Scene Export button in Enscape allows you to expand your visualization workflow using Chaos products, and export your Enscape views as vrscene files that can be imported to multiple 3D modeling applications to get the perfect design. The .vrscene format transfers geometry, assets, lights, materials, and some rendering settings.

What is included in the V-Ray Scene file?

With the Enscape exported .vrscene file, you get the following:

  • All materials and their corresponding textures;
  • All 3D assets that were used from the library;
  • All types of artificial lights;
  • The basic aspects of the environment lighting such as Sun position, intensity, the clouds on the sky;
  • The camera position and orientation of the exported view.

Export a V-Ray Scene

In order to export a .vrscene file, and to make the V-Ray Scene Export button active, we will need at least one named view inside Enscape. Once the V-Ray Scene Export button is clicked, a new window will pop up showing a list of all the named views available for the project. We can choose if we want to export .vrscenes for one, multiple or all the views in the list. Once selected, click Export

After clicking the Export button, we will be asked to specify a location for the export. Once we specify the location, an export status window will appear on the screen and will remain on top until all the selected scenes have been successfully exported to the .vrscene file format to our specified location.

Now the exported .vrscene files can be imported to multiple 3D modeling applications, transferring geometry, assets, lights, materials, and some rendering settings as well.

Known Limitations

Support for water materials is not included, yet. (WIP)

The Enscape Artistic Visual Modes is not supported by the Envision render engine, yet.

Enscape camera paths are not supported, yet.

While we’re working hard to make the scene transfer as seamless as possible, some scene aspects cannot be transitioned due to the technically different nature of both render engines.
