This page provides information on uninstalling Phoenix.
Overview
When installing Phoenix, the installer will automatically uninstall any previous versions by default. The following steps can be taken to manually uninstall Phoenix.
Windows
Before uninstalling Phoenix, make sure that Maya or Phoenix components are not being used. Then go to either of the following:
Start menu > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Phoenix FD for Maya 20xx for x64
Start menu > All Programs > Chaos Group > Phoenix FD for Maya 20xx for x64 > Uninstall Phoenix FD for Maya
This will start the Phoenix uninstaller. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove Phoenix from your system and restore any files overwritten by the installation.
Linux
To uninstall Phoenix for Maya, start with root permissions the uninstall_chaos program, which is normally located in the /usr/ChaosGroup/PhoenixFD/MayaNNNN-x64/uninstall/ directory:
Example
$ su
$ /usr/ChaosGroup/PhoenixFD/Maya2023-x64/uninstall/uninstaller_chaos
follow the instructions of the uninstaller
$ exit
The uninstaller will not remove the V-Ray license configuration files or any other files that you have modified manually after the installation.
MacOS
To uninstall Phoenix for Maya double-click the uninstaller.app program, which is normally located in /Applications/ChaosGroup/PhoenixFD/Maya20xx -x64/uninstall
This will start the Phoenix uninstaller. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove Phoenix from your system and restore any files overwritten by the installation.
