This page provides information about the Edges node in V-Ray for Cinema 4D.

Overview

The Edges node outlines all the edges of the geometry. It achieves an effect similar to the Lines shading in the viewport. When used as a bump map, this texture can produce a "round corners" effect for mesh objects, giving corners and edges a rounded bevel.

When using V-Ray Edges as a bump map for a V-Ray material, make sure the Bump Type is set to a value different than Bump MapFor more information, please visit the V-Ray Material Bump page

Parameters

Edges Color – Determines the color of the edges.

Background Color – Determines the background color.

Show Hidden Edges – When enabled, all edges of triangles are rendered including diagonal edges across polygons, which are normally invisible. When disabled, only edges marked as "visible" are rendered.

Width Type – Determines whether World Units or Pixel Units are used for the width of the edges. The corresponding parameter then becomes active, allowing for further control over the width.

Pixel Width – Specifies the width of the edges in pixels, when the Width Type is set to Pixel Units.

World Width – Specifies the width of the edges in world units, when the Width Type is set to World Units.

Show Sub-triangles – When enabled, edges generated by displacement mapping or render time subdivision are visible.
