This page provides information about the Check for Missing Cosmos Assets tool in V-Ray for Maya.

Overview

The Check for Missing Cosmos Assets tool allows all cosmos assets in the scene that are lost or missing to be relocated or downloaded from the Chaos Cosmos Browser. This is useful when opening a scene that is created on another machine, or if the assets have been moved to a different directory, or deleted. If assets are relocated, this tool re-paths them to the scene. If assets are missing, this tool downloads them from the Chaos Cosmos Browser and returns them to the scene.

Workflow

  • Click on V-Ray > Tools > Check for Missing Cosmos Assets

  • A message appears displaying the number of missing assets and their total size. Click Yes to proceed.

  • Wait for V-Ray to retrieve/download the missing assets. The assets are instantly visible in the scene once the process is complete.

Once the recovery/download has started, it cannot be interrupted
