This section contains information about the V-Ray Scatter Area Modifier Component in V-Ray for Grasshopper.
Overview
Scatters Guest objects everywhere on the Host objects, except for or exclusively in the areas defined by objects from this component. Used as V-Ray Scatter 2 component’s Area Modifier input.
Input Parameters
V Geo (Generic Data) – Specifies objects to be used for generating projected areas of exclusion or inclusion of Scatter guests. These areas are projected along specified axes and determined by the dimensions of objects or splines included in this list. Scatter Area Modifier objects cannot be the same as the Scatter Host objects.
Falloff (Domain) – Determines the distance from the selected area modifier object where the falloff range begins and ends its effect. The falloff range is the gradual transition of the area modifier effect between 100% and 0%.
Scale (Number) – Scale factor affecting instances with the Falloff range. The value represents the effect strength at the end of the falloff range. For example, a value of 0.5 causes instances to have a scale of 0% at beginning of the range gradually increasing to 50% at end. Note that that a value of 0 negates the falloff effect altogether.
Density (Number) – Density factor affecting instances within the Falloff range. The value represents the effect strength at the end of the falloff range. For example, a value of 0.5 causes instances to appear at a density of 0% at the beginning of the range gradually increasing to 50% at the end. Note that that a value of 0 negates the falloff effect altogether.
Axis (Integer) – Determines the plane of the area modifier projection along the X, Y or Z axis.
Operation (Integer) – Specifies the Scatter distribution relative to the Area modifier objects.
Include – only instances within the projected area are created.
Exclude – only instances outside the projected area are created.
Output Parameters
Area Modifier (Generic Data) – Generic data output that can be connected to Scatter 2 component’s Area Modifiers input.
