Scene Preparation

UI Steps
UI Step

Make sure the scene has a correct physical scale.

UI Step

Set up the tracked camera.

  1. Add a new Physical camera. The location of the camera in the scene doesn't matter.
  2. Set the Focal length and Film gate so they to match the actual camera that will be used on set.
  3. Set a reasonable Focus distance, for example, 2 meters.
  4. Adjust the exposure of the camera according to the scene.
UI Step

Set up the projection, depending on the desired workflow:

  1. Add stage position nodes if using you use a Stage Geometry scene in the configuration.
  2. Alternatively, directly import the stage geometry into the scene and position it as desired.
UI Step

Set the render resolution to match the camera's aspect ratio of the camera. A high enough resolution is also useful helpful for the operator instances, as Vantage Arena clamps the render resolution to the camera resolution in the scene by default.

UI Step

Repath all assets to a shared network drive if needed.

UI Step

Export a .vrscene file.

  1. Make sure that Ensure the main primary render camera is the tracked camera in the exported scene.
  2. Make sure to enable animation export if there are animations in the scene.
  3. Use the Archive option in the .vrscene export settings if desired. It packs the scene and all assets and makes it portable. Useful if there are local assets that are not stored in a shared location. In this case repathing , re-pathing the assets is not needed, unnecessary; all paths are converted to relative.
