The Background Render Element stores an image of the texture used in the background behind geometry in a scene, as seen from the camera. Geometry that blocks the background image renders as black.

This render element interprets only a background texture, such as the texture set in the Environment Overrides, as a backgroundset as Env. Matte Texture (Render Settings > V-Ray > Overrides > Environment).

Other types of manually created backgrounds, such as a plane , mapped with a texture set outside a window, will are not interpreted to be as a "background" for the purposes of this render element.

 This render element can be used to enhance or edit only the background of a scene after it has been rendered. See the example.

Enable Deep Output –  – Specifies whether to include this render element in deep images.

Color Mapping –  – Applies the color mapping options specified in the Color mappingMapping rollout of the V-Ray tab in the Render Settings window to this render element. This option is enabled by default.

Consider for Anti-Aliasing – When enabled, anti-aliasing is used where possible.

Filtering –  Applies an image filter to this channel.

Derive Raw Channels – Generates data in the raw channels by combining the respective color and the filter color channels.

Vfb Color Corrections – – Applies the post-render color adjustments made from the VFB.

Denoise – Enables the render element's denoising, provided the Denoiser render element is present.
