The Self-Illumination Render Element stores the illumination of any self-illuminated materials in the scene. It isolates It isolates self-illuminated materials, including V-Ray Mesh Lights, objects with the LightMtl V-Ray Light Material, and any objects with Self-Illumination enabled in their V-Ray materialMaterial. This render element is useful for brightening or color-correcting self-illuminated materials in the final composite.

For example, the material  V-Ray Material has a parameter for self-illumination. If this parameter is set to a non-black color value, this render element will show the results of the self-illumination.

This render element can be used to enhance the self-illumination effect in a scene. See the example.

Enable Deep Output –  – Specifies whether to include this render element in deep images.

Color Mapping – Applies the color mapping options specified in the Color mappingMapping rollout of the V-Ray tab in the Render Settings window to this render element. This option is enabled by default.

Consider for AaAnti-Aliasing – When enabled, anti-aliasing is used where possible.

Filtering –  Applies an image filter to this channel.

Derive Raw Channels – Generates data in the raw channels by combining the respective color and the filter color channels.

Vfb Color Corrections – Applies the post-render color adjustments made from the VFB.

Denoise – Enables the render element's denoising, provided the Denoiser render element is present.

Example: Enhance Self-Illumination

In this example, a Cryptomatte mask selections are made of the yacht lights and the dock lights in the scene on a different Self-Illumination RE layers. Both are brightened by increasing their multiplier and are color-tinted.
