This page offers information on the system requirements of Chaos Anima.


Overview

Our software has been designed to run on a wide range of hardware and software configurations, although performance levels will vary depending on the processing speed, graphics card, and memory of the system. Below you can see a list of the minimum and recommended specifications:

  • Intel® i5 or AMD FX processor or better.
  • Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, or Windows 11 (all 64 bit).
  • 8GB of RAM (32 GB recommended).
  • 10 GB of available hard disk space.

  • DirectX® 10 or OpenGL® capable graphics card with 1Gb VRAM (8 Gb recommended).

  • An internet connection is mandatory with the Subscription license and highly recommended with perpetual licenses.


In case you have any doubts, we recommend trying first the free anima® LITE version. Notice that the Lite version can be used to create still renderings and animations, even commercially. When used only with Ready-Posed assets (static) has no limitations, and with animated models (4D, Ambient, and Rigged) it has the following limitations:

  1. You can render 5 different default animated actors for each scene.
  2. You can render 1 different custom imported animated actor for each scene.
  3. You can render 4 seconds of animation (100 frames at 25 fps).
  4. You cannot render an anima® LITE scene in an online Render Farm service.

All the paid versions ( anima® ALL, anima® PRO, and anima® Render Node) have no limitations and are fully compatible with all the types of models included in the metropoly® library (Ready-Posed, Ambient, Rigged, and 4D Digital Humans).

3ds Max® Plugin Requirements

  • Supported versions of 3ds Max® 2016 – 2025 (64 bit).

Maya® Plugin Requirements

  • Supported versions of Maya® 2018 – 2025 (64 bit).

Cinema 4D® Plugin Requirements

  • Supported versions of Cinema 4D® R17 – 2024 (64 bit).

Unreal Engine 4® Plugin Requirements

  • Supported versions of Unreal Engine®: the 3 or 4 latest versions at the time of the release.

The current version of anima® (5.5.0) includes support for UE 4.27, UE 5.2, UE 5.3 and UE 5.4 (64 bit).
