This page provides information about the V-Ray Graph component in V-Ray for Grasshopper.

Overview

The V-Ray Graph component is a curve editor that remaps the numeric input values to an output, based on an advanced curve function. Unlike the standard Grasshopper Graph Mapper, this curve editor allows the use of multiple bezier point controls with custom tangents. It can be combined with the V-Ray Timeline component for a powerful animation workflow.

The V-Ray Graph component serves to overcome the limitation of the native Grasshopper components allowing for better animation controls.

Mouse click shortcuts:
Double Click – Add a new key.
Ctrl+Double Click – Add new linear key (no tangents).
Right Click – Delete the key under the mouse point.
Hold Left mouse button – Drag a key/tangent point.

Modifier keys used while dragging:
Ctrl – Unifies the tangents and lets one move them in a unified way.
Shift – Restricts main point movement in the Y direction and limits their position to the existing graph range.
Shift – Snaps the tangent angle to either X, Y, its current angle, or its pair angle.
