This page provides information about the SSS Render Element in V-Ray for Cinema 4D.
Overview
The SSS Render Element stores information calculated from Subsurface Scattering materials (VRayFastSSS2/VRayMtl). This render element can then be used to enhance or color-correct just the subsurface scattering component of the image during the compositing process.
This render element can be used to enhance the SSS layer of objects. See the example.

Example: Enhancing SSS
In this example, the SSS layer of the human and the beach balls are enhanced after rendering using the SSS Render Element. The objects are selected using Cryptomatte masks. The human has been darkened by setting the Render Element multiplier to 0.5. The beach balls are brightened using an Exposure layer.
