This article explains the settings and values of the Corona Proxy Exporter tool in Cinema 4D.

Overview

Corona Proxy is Corona's own proxy tool, helpful in decreasing the number of polygons and thereby simplifying meshes for the viewport to keep scenes manageable and to bake objects with animation to keep playback at a reasonable frame rate.

To access the Corona Proxy Export tool a new Corona Proxy object must be created first, then use the Pick from scene button in the Object tab, and click on the desired object from the scene to open the exporting dialog.

Presets

Presets – This allows to use exporting presets previously saved. Exporting settings can be saved as presets in case of continuous use of the exporting tool.

General

Include children – If the object that is going to be exported includes nested objects (children), they are also included.

Animation

Mode – This parameter allows selection between different modes to include animation data for the exported file.

No animation – Using this mode will not include animation data at all.
Manual – Using this mode, animation data will be included in the exported file, but the frame range must be manually set.
All frames – Using this mode, animation data will be included in the exported file, all frames in the timeline are considered.
Preview range – Using this mode, animation data will be included in the exported file, but only the preview frame range from the Cinema 4D timeline is considered.

Start frame – Defines the starting frame to include animation data for the exported file.

End frame – Defines the ending frame to include animation data for the exported file.

Frame step – Defines the frame stepping to include animation data for the exported file. If the value is set to 1, every frame is considered for exporting; if the value is set to 5, only animation data from every 5th frame is considered for export.

Show preview (slower export) – This parameter enables the exporting preview but reduces the exporting speed.
