This page provides information about the Environment node in V-Ray for Blender.
Overview
The V-Ray Environment node allows you to access environment settings for the scene. It plugs into the V-Ray World Output of the V-Ray Renderer. Nodes that are not plugged into the V-Ray Environment node are not applied to the render.

Node Input Sockets
Background – When a texture is connected, it is used for the scene background. You can otherwise set a solid color as the background from the
tile next to the option.GI – Connect a texture to be used during Indirect Illumination(GI) calculation. The effect of changing the GI texture is similar to skylight.
Reflection – Connect a textureto be used during calculations of reflections.
Refraction – Connect a texture to be used during calculations of refractions.
Secondary Matte – Connect a texture here to be used during calculations of reflections/refractions of matte objects.
