This page provides information about the Extra Tex Render Channel in V-Ray for Blender.
Overview
The Extra Texture Render Channel shows the rendered image with a single texture applied to all objects in the scene. The shader applied to the scene can be a bitmap or a procedural texture such as V-Ray Dirt or V-Ray Curvature.
A common use for Extra Tex is to use V-Ray Dirt as the shader, which creates an ambient occlusion channel for use in the composite. In this way, ambient occlusion can be controlled separately during the compositing process.
While a similar result to the ExtraTex render channel can be obtained by applying the same shader to all objects in the scene and rendering, as usual, such an approach requires additional time spent on reverting to actual materials, saving different versions of the scene, etc. The Extra Tex render channel provides a quick and easy way to render the scene with a single texture without the extra work.

Node Input Sockets
The input sockets can only be found on the node itself.
Texmap – Allows a bitmap or a procedural texture to be connected.
Objects – Allows objects to be connected to this node. The objects are included or excluded from the Extra Tex channel.
Properties
See the Render Channels page to find out where you can find these properties.
Channel Name – Customizable name for the render channel.
Enable Deep Output – Specifies whether to include this render channel in deep images.
Consider For Anti-Aliasing – When enabled, anti-aliasing is used where possible.
Affect Matte Objects – Determines whether to include matte objects when generating the render channel.
Filtering – Applies an image filter to this channel.
Force 32 Bit Output – When enabled, stores the Extra Texture render channel as a 32-bit float even when writing a 16-bit raw image. This option applies only to multichannel .exr files.
Force Lossless Compression – When enabled, lossy DWAA/DWAB compression is not applied to the Extra Tex data stored in a multichannel exr. This option applies only to multichannel .exr files.
Denoise – Enables the render channel's denoising, provided the Denoiser is enabled.
Affected objects
The Affected objects list includes/excludes objects to which the Extra Tex effect is applied. You can add individual Objects or entire Collections of objects to the list. You can either drag and drop items into the slots or use the eyedropper tool. Click Remove to remove selected items from the list.
