This page provides information on V-Ray Proxy settings integrated in Solaris's V-Ray Proxy Import LOP.
The V-Ray Proxy settings are located in the V-Ray Proxy Import LOP. The settings are equivalent to the standard V-Ray Proxy Import settings in obj network.
V-Ray Proxy imports geometry from an external mesh at render time only. The geometry is not present in the scene, and does not use up any resources. This allows the rendering of scenes with many millions of faces, more than Houdini itself can handle.
Currently, the V-Ray Proxy Import LOP can load only .vrmesh files. Once the .vrmesh file is loaded, a VRayGeomMeshFile USD primitive is created.

Creating and Setting Attributes
The parameters that correspond to a USD attribute have a pop-up menu that controls how the LOP node authors the attribute:
Set or Create – Sets the attribute to a given value, regardless of whether the attribute previously existed or not.
Set if Exists – Sets an attribute to the given value only if it previously existed. Use this option to make sure the attribute is set on primitives of the correct type.
Block – Makes the attribute appear to not exist so it takes on its default value.
Do Nothing – Does not affect the attribute, i.e. does not create or change the attribute in any way.
Primitive Path – Path to USD primitive.
Parameters controlling V-Ray Proxy’s scale, axis and normals.
Advanced parameters controlling V-Ray Proxy.
V-Ray Proxy Import LOP cannot load alembic files.
Proxies imported in Solaris cannot be previewed.
