This page covers the basics of licensing Chaos Scans and its compatibility with V-Ray and Corona.
Overview
Chaos Scans plugin is available with both V-Ray and Corona installations and allows the use of Chaos Scans materials downloaded from the Chaos Scans Material Library and the Cosmos Browser. To modify a Scans material in a scene, a separate license for the Chaos Scans plugin is required and must be available through your Chaos License account.
Starting with V-Ray 6, rendering Scanned Materials no longer requires an additional render license. In earlier versions of V-Ray, a separate license is needed to render Scanned Materials - otherwise, images render with a watermark.
Starting with V-Ray 7 Update 1 and Corona 12 Update 2, Scans materials can be downloaded directly from the Cosmos Browser and rendered without a separate license. However, editing these materials still requires a Chaos Scans plugin license.
