Animation – Enables the rendering of animated sequences.

Animation Source – Allows switching between animations recorded using the Rhino Animation tools and Sun or Camera Animation imported from Grasshopper via the V-Ray Render in Project component. Note that starting from V-Ray for Rhino v4.20.01 onward, animation exported from Grasshopper to Rhino will not be preserved in the Rhino project (.3dm) file. It will be available during the active session but if closed and reopened the animation will need to be reimported from the Grasshopper (.gh) file via the V-Ray Render in Project component.

Rhino – Selects the animation recorded using Rhino Animation tools.
Grasshopper – Selects the Sun/Camera Animation imported from Grasshopper via the V-Ray Render in Project component.

Time Segment – Specifies whether the entire animation or only a subset are rendered as individual frames.

Entire Animation – Renders the entire animation as individual frames.

Frame Range – Allows selection of only certain frames to be rendered.

Start – Allows rendering a subset of the animation as opposed to rendering the entire sequence. Value is expressed in "frames". Available when Time Segment is set to Frame Range.

End – Allows rendering a subset of the animation as opposed to rendering the entire sequence. Value is expressed in "frames". Available when Time Segment is set to Frame Range.

Get Animation Range – Sets the frame-range to match the current project animation length. Available when Time Segment is set to Frame Range.

Motion Blur – Turns on motion blur sampling.

Camera Motion Blur – When enabled, it considers the camera movement when calculating the motion blur effect. Otherwise, only objects in motion are blurred. Note that only proxy scene or mesh references can introduce object animation.

Notes

Fancy Bullets
typecircle
  • The Use Camera Path setting of the Irradiance Map and Light Cache GI enginescan be enabled in order to calculate the GI samples for the entire camera path of the animation instead of just the current view.
  • When using the Rhino Animation tools, V-Ray requires the specified Viewport to match the currently active viewport in order to record the full-frame sequence.
  • The V-Ray recording process of an animation is shown in the Rhino progress bar, located at the bottom right corner of Rhino's UI.
  • Note that the first animation frame is always indexed starting from 0 and not 1.
  • Bongo animation is exported as a series of still frames instead of animation frames. Due to this behavior, the Motion Blur effect is not supported.
