This page provides information for license server admins and holders of multiple licenses.

Overview

When using a Premium Chaos License to share among a number of machines, it is most convenient to centrally handle all floating licenses in the network. This means installing and activating the License Server on a central location (i.e., a machine within the network to which all others have access) and setting up all other users to connect remotely to this central License Server.

Setting up floating Chaos Premium Licenses

The administrator installs the Chaos License Server on a machine that can centrally serve the licenses within a network. The Premium licenses are activated by authenticating the License Server with a Chaos account that has those licenses assigned to it. Once the licenses are active, the rest of the users within the company or the team can use them. To see how users connect to the license-holder machine, see the Premium User page.

Once you install and activate the License Server, your machine's IP address serves as a connection point for the rest of the users within your company or team.

Redundancy Options

As Premium Licenses are managed from a central location, any issues with that central machine that runs the License Server could prevent users within your network to access your licenses. Here are some optional steps you can take to ensure licenses are always available, which can be useful for larger teams or organizations.
