This page gives information about the VRayScanZone Render Element.


Overview


VRayScansZone is available for specific scanned materials only. If a vrscan material consist of two or more clearly defined sub-materials (e.g. some fabrics with pattern), it can have an underlying map called zone that can be used for compositing purposes later on. This render element shows the zone, that is a map of the sub-materials.

The rendered image is monochrome. The white color specifies the selected zone, whereas the black color specifies the other parts of the image.

Parameters


This render element is enabled through the Render Elements tab of the Render Setup window in 3ds Max and displays its parameters in a rollout at the bottom of the window:

VrayVFB – When enabled, the render element appears in the V-Ray Virtual Frame Buffer.

Color mappingApplies the color mapping options specified in the Color mapping rollout of the V-Ray tab in the Render Setup window to this render element. This option is enabled by default.

Multiplier – Sets the overall intensity of the render element, where 1.0 is the standard multiplier. 

Denoise –  Specifies whether to denoise this render element.

Zone – Determines the zone that is pained white.
