Both anima® ALL and anima® PRO use the same installer and exactly the same install options. The software will become a PRO (perpetual) or an ALL (subscription) version depending only on the type of license used, which can be chosen after the installation process is completed.
First, get the installer for the version you want to use. Then, launch the installer by executing the downloaded *.exe file (i.e “anima_installer_5.0.0.exe”).
To successfully complete the installation, the installer must run with a user account that has administrator privileges. Also, before installing anima®, make sure to close the anima® Designer application and all the host 3D apps for the anima® plugins that you might have open (3ds Max®, Maya®, Cinema 4d®, and Unreal Engine®), to let the installer copy, overwrite, or remove all the necessary files for the new version.
Launching anima® from the installer may cause problems to access MAPPED DRIVES. When this happens, anima® is executed in the same “admin” environment used by the installer and, if those mapped drives have not been set up in the “admin” user account yet, the anima® process won’t be able to access them either. To solve the problem just close anima® and start it again using the anima® shortcut from the Windows Start menu. Learn more about this issue in the article Using anima® on a network. |
When anima® is started for the first time it will not have any license activated yet, so it will be shown as the LITE version (free demo with limitations). To activate a purchased license please follow the instructions described in the Licensing Guide.
The process to install the anima® Render Node version and its plugins are almost the same, the only difference is in step 4 of the process described above, where you must select the RENDER NODE option:
If you are a system admin, notice that it is possible to automate the installation of anima® from a command-line script.
