This page gives an overview of the Raw Reflection Filter Render Element and explains how it is used.

Overview

The Raw Reflection Filter Render Element is similar to the Reflection Filter Render Element, except it is not affected by Fresnel falloff. The result is a solid mask showing the areas of reflection.

Parameters

The parameters for this render element appear in the Attribute Editor under Extra V-Ray Attributes.

Enabled – When checked, the render element appears in the V-Ray Virtual Frame Buffer.

Deep output – Specifies whether to include this render element in deep images.

Filename suffix – The text added to the end of the rendered file, when saved as a separate file (e.g. myrender.rawReflectionFilter.vrimg).

Denoise – Enables the render element's denoising, provided the Denoiser render element is present.

This render element is not supported with V-Ray GPU rendering.

Usage Notes

The Raw Reflection Filter Render Element is useful when a precise mask is needed for reflective objects. Unlike the Reflection Filter Render Element, there is no need to clip or readjust values when pure black or white is required for the composite.
