This page gives information about the Unclamped Color Render Element.

Overview

The Unclamped Color Render Element is a color image that shows the original colors that were clamped or adjusted with Color Mapping. This render element is useful in the compositing process for enhancing extreme colors (very bright or very dark) or for shading the final image with the unclamped colors.

When Color Mapping is used, the values that are clamped depend on whether the Clamp output option has been enabled, as well as the rest of the Color Mapping parameters.

To use render elements, select from the Available render elements column and click the Add button to add the passes you wish to generate at render time. When you render the scene, the added render elements listed in the column on the right, will also render, which can be viewed from the VFB window's channel drop-down menu.

For more information on the parameters on this dialog, see the Render Elements tab page.
