This page provides information about the V-Ray Object Select Render Element in V-Ray for Houdini.

Overview

The Object Select Render Element stores only the object(s) called out with a specific Object or Material ID.

This effect is reversible to create a render element that excludes a particular object or objects according to Object or Material ID.

When rendering this element out, it also includes a filter and alpha passes separately to help make it easier to use when compositing.

Parameters

Name The text added to the end of the rendered file, when saved as a separate file.

More Than One – When enabled, more than one object is exported.

Object/Material ID – List of selected IDs included in this render pass.

Use Material IDs – When enabled, the pass considers the Material ID and renders accordingly. When disabled, these values are considered to be the Object ID.

Invert Selection – Use the opposite of the selected objects in the render pass.

Affect Matte Objects – Specifies whether to include matte objects when generating the render element. A matte object is an object that has been assigned a Wrapper Material.

Denoise – Enables the render element's denoising, provided the V-Ray Denoiser render element is present.

Color Mapping – When enabled, the Color Mapping options in the render settings are applied to the current render channel.

Deep Output – Specifies whether to include this render element in deep images.

Common Uses

The Object Select render element allows items to be isolated for easier control at a composite level. In the example shown below, the curtains are color corrected and tinted yellow.
