This page provides information about the Families tab in the V-Ray Appearance Manager.

 

Overview

The Families tab serves as a bridge between the Revit family content and various V-Ray assets such as Proxies, Cosmos 3D models, and Scatter. 

It contains three subtabs: Revit, Cosmos and Scatter.

 

UI Path

||Appearance Manager|| > Families tab

 

Revit subtab

Displays various Revit families available for replacement with photoreal V-Ray geometries (the replacement happens and is visible only at render time).

Cosmos subtab

Displays all Cosmos assets loaded in the Revit project, which can also be used as replacements for Revit families at render time. 
 

Scatter subtab

Allows for selecting Revit families which are used to host Scatter asset created in the Asset Editor.
