This page provides information on the Sheen Reflection Render Element.
Overview
The Sheen Reflection Render element is analogous to the Reflection Render Element.
The Sheen Reflection RE stores the indirect reflection information calculated from the VRayMtl Sheen Layer. Surfaces with no Sheen values set in their materials contain no information in the render pass and therefore render black.
The Sheen Reflection RE can be obtained by multiplying the Raw Sheen Reflection by the Sheen Filter. So while the raw sheen reflection pass gives the full reflection of objects reflecting in the scene, the sheen reflection filter sets how much of that reflection should come through in the composite. The two are multiplied together to create the Sheen Reflection pass which gives a true representation of the reflection in the scene.
Parameters
VRayVFB – When enabled, the render element appears in the V-Ray Frame Buffer.
Deep output – Specifies whether to include this render element in deep images.
Color mapping – Applies the color mapping options specified in the Color mapping rollout (Render Setup window > V-Ray tab) to this render element. This option is enabled by default.
Multiplier – Sets the overall intensity of the render element, where 1.0 is the standard multiplier.
Denoise – Enables the render element's denoising, provided the Denoiser render element is present.
Common Use
The Sheen Reflection Render Element is most commonly used to edit and enhance the reflections of the Sheen layer of the V-Ray material in a compositing or editing software. See the render before and after compositing.
Compositing Formula
Multiplying the V-Ray Sheen Filter by the V-Ray Raw Sheen Reflection, produces the V-Ray Sheen Reflection.
