Table of Contents

This page provides information about the Scene environment tab in the Render settings window.

Overview

The options available in this tab will allow you to use custom scene environments visible directly or only for reflection/refraction purposes.

UI Path: ||Render settings window|| > Corona > Scene Environment tab

Scene environment

Override whole environment – Allows you to set a custom scene environment; it overrides any currently used native C4D environment. Using 8-bit images (JPG, PNG, etc.) is recommended to avoid fireflies.

It is recommended to use a Corona Light material with the Emit light option turned off.

Environment overrides

The following option allows you to use separate environment overrides for direct visibility, or for reflection/refraction. Using 8-bit images (JPG, PNG, etc.) is recommended to avoid fireflies.

Available override options are:

Direct visibility override – When enabled, the shader or texture map next to this checkbox will be used as an override for the environment map visible directly from the camera.
Reflection override – When enabled, the shader or texture map next to this checkbox will be used as an override for the environment map and it will be only visible in reflections.
Refraction override – When enabled, the shader or texture map next to this checkbox will be used as an override for the environment map and it will be only visible in refractions.

It is recommended to use a Corona Light material with the Emit light option turned off.

Volume

Global volume – When enabled, the material placed next to this checkbox is used as the global volumetric medium for the scene. Useful for simulating fog or aerial perspective.

A Corona Volume material should be used here.
