Solo and Cloud-Based Floating Licenses

Network Floating Licenses

If you have not accepted the legal agreements and/or the telemetry options during the installation, you are presented with the following windows when first opening Blender.

Solo and Cloud-Based Floating Licenses

If you have a Chaos Solo license plan or are connected to a Cloud-Based Floating License, follow these steps:

Using V-Ray requires an account with an active license. V-Ray for Blender will prompt you to sign in, if needed. Select Sign in from this dialog and enter your Chaos account credentials on the Chaos accounts Sign in webpage.

Read more about the licensing process and functionality in the Chaos Licensing documentation.

Then, from the Render Properties, select V-Ray as the Render Engine.

Network Floating Licenses

If you are connecting to a Floating Chaos License, which is set up to be shared within a network, follow these steps.

  • The administrator needs to give you their machine's IP address. This serves as your connection point to the Chaos License.
  • When installing your Chaos product, at the Licensing step, select Remote. In the Primary License Server field, type the server IP address that your license administrator gave you. At the end, add the :30304 port. See the Installation page and follow the steps for your Chaos installation.

  • You are automatically connected to the active licenses after completing the installation.
